Asus Zenfone 5 is firstly announced on January, 2014 but only available in Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, China and etc around 2nd quarter of the year. The hotness of the sale of Zenfone 5 in these countries is out of expectation. Despite of the outlook, Zenfone’s hardware is one of the attraction to the consumer as it is powered by Intel dual core processor, company which is excel in processor manufacturing industry for decade. The availability of different hardware specification resulted in acceptance of Zenfone 5 in all level of life.
I managed to get Zenfone 5 from one of my friend in Singapore which is 3G version with 1.6GHz processor, 2GB RAM and 8GB ROM. From order to delivery, Asus promised to get everything done within 24 hours. It is a perfect move from Asus to ensure consumer to receive the phone in shorter time as possible. It is a standard packaging used by Asus on Zenfone 5. Along with the phone, charger, USB cable, ear piece and user manual are included in the package.
From the first hand-on experience with Zenfone 5, I pretty impressed with ZenUI which is official UI for Asus smartphone. A clean yet elegant design of the user interface is one of the main attraction for me to try on Asus smartphone. Powered by Intel processor, I hardly experience laggy situation with my Zenfone 5. I have been testing Zenfone for one week before writing the review. So far, I could say it is the smoothness mid-range Android phone ever used.
Below is the result of testing on battery life, performance as well the Antutu benchmark made on Zenfone 5.
With moderate usage, Zenfone can easily sustain one day within charging. The result below shows the daily usage with internet surfing, Facebook social, gaming and etc. Zenfone score 3.5 hours of screen on time which is considerably good for smartphone with 2100mAh battery. This also includes a 45 minute of Asphalt 8 gaming that is a battery-hungry activities. Worth to mention that I have my Zenfone connected to Wifi all the time.
Last but not least, i also conduct the Antutu Benchmark on my Zenfone 5 to give a rough idea on how good is the phone.
