Xiaomi MI3 WCDMA Root Guide

Xiaomi no doubt the hottest smartphone manufacturer after Apple and Samsung. What makes Xiaomi so famous that everyone eager to find out. Of course you have heard of MIUI custom rom since years ago and that’s what Xiaomi company is build from. With the greatest strategy been used, Xiaomi smartphone successfully impress the world with its low pricing high end device such as Mi 3. With only USD 200+, you can get Mi 3 with Snapdragon 800 processor, 5 inch 1080p display and 13MP camera. You can never get a high end smartphone with merely USD 200+ for now but Xiaomi make it possible.

With Mi3, yet you still want to root to further improve the performance and enhance the battery life. If compare to other brand, Xiaomi make it easier to root and open for customisation as what MIUI did. Without any delay, follow the steps below to root Xiaomi Mi3 WCDMA version. This guide is not applicable for those with Mi3  Tegra version.

Root Xiaomi Mi3 WCDMA

Step 1: Download SuperUser and CWM recovery.

Step 2: Place the downloaded file in internal storage.

Step 3: From Mi3, open the updater app. You can find it in Setting, About Phone, System Updates

Step 4: Press on the capacitive menu button, press “select update package”

Step 5: Select the CWM recovery in the internal storage.

Step 6: After install, reboot your device to recovery using capacitive menu list. There is a option to reboot to recovery mode.

Step 7: In recovery mode, select install ZIP from SD and choose the SuperUser update file.

Step 8: After installation, select yes when ask to fix root.

Step 9: Reboot device and root done.
