Sony Xperia Z3 is the successor of Xperia Z2, both improved in hardware and software. It being announced back in 16th Sept 2014 and officially launched in India by 26th Sept 2014. It just a couple of week after Sony Xperia Z2 launched in India. It is even quicker than the launch of Note 4 which definitely affect the sale of Samsung’s next flagship.
Sony Xperia Z3 is indeed a powerful flagship ever released by Sony, and developer from XDA would push the limit to the max. Just after two days of Xperia Z3 release, XDA senior member, monx had found out the safe root method for this phone. It is pretty simple procedure to get Z3 rooted with unlocked bootloader and flash SuperSU file later. However, it is only applicable to Xperia Z3 D6653/D6603/D6633 model.
1. Pre-requisite: unlocked bootloader, follow guide here. Setup ADB in PC.
2. Download kernel image according to your device. D6653/D6603 23.0.A.2.93 here & D6633 23.0.F.1.74 here.
3. Download latest SuperSU package from here. Paste the downloaded file to internal storage.
4. Reboot your phone into fastboot mode. Power off the phone, press and hold Volume Up button + Connect USB cable to PC at the same time. You will see blue LED indicator on.
5. Right click on folder icon as described in Step 1, select open command windows here.
6. Type in fastboot flash boot bootZ3monxtest01.img or bootZ3dualmonxtest01.img
7. After flashing the kernel.img, reboot the device.
8. Enter recovery mode by pressing Volume Up / Volume Down repetitively.
9. Once you enter recovery mode, find SuperSU zip package and swipe right to flash the file.
