How to Root Moto G LTE

LTE is a trend where smartphone manufacturer will consider it as one important criteria while designing their product. Moto G is one of my favourite smartphone but unfortunately it does not come with LTE. Motorola seem to know the need of the customer by bringing the next generation of Moto G with LTE. It indeed the prefect phone for those who love the speed of LTE network as well with limited budget.

Frankly speaking that i never left my phone being stock for more than 1 month as long as i could find the safe root method. Here with Moto G LTE, shabbypenguin from XDA would bring good news for me as now the Moto G LTE is rootable and with CWM recovery installed. Let’s follow the guide below if you are looking to root Moto G LTE version.

How to Root Moto G LTE

Download

  1. adb driver
  2. CWM recovery
  3. SuperSU - Source

Instructions

  1. Download all necessary files above.
  2. Extract adb driver zip file on your PC desktop.
  3. Copy recovery file into this extracted folder. Rename to recovery.img.
  4. Connect your device to PC. Copy and paste the SuperSU file to internal storage of the phone.
  5. Unplug and turn off your device.
  6. Reboot into download mode by pressing and hold Volume Down + Power button, then release Power button.
  7. Now, connect your device to PC via USB cable.
  8. Go to adb tool folder, press SHIFT + RIGHT CLICK the folder, then followed by OPEN COMMAND WINDOW HERE.
  9. In the CMD windows, type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and press enter to continue.
  10. Once complete, press Volume Down then followed by Volume Up to boot into CWM recovery.
  11. In CWM, select INSTALL FROM SDCARD –> SuperSU. 
  12. After install SuperSU, reboot system.
  13. Your Moto G LTE is now rooted.
