HTC Desire 610 Root Guide

Being latest HTC Desire product in year 2014, Desire 610 play a important part in the effort of HTC penetrating mid-range market in Asian country. There is a fierce competition on-going with the cheaper flagship as introduced by Xiaomi in the Asian countries. With the success of HTC One series, HTC is looking forward a wider market in mid-range phone categories by launching the Desire series.

Mid range smartphone common drawback is the lack of free memory in spite of having 1GB RAM built-in. As used for longer period, smartphone performance is getting worst especially when heavily loaded with application, photo and video. It is always a good idea to replace old phone with recent higher spec device but budget does restrict some of you to move. Rooting your HTC Desire 610 is not a bad idea as to boost up the performance and improve battery life.

Rooting is always accompanied with certain level of risk. So, make sure you have sufficient knowledge of rooting before proceed to the next section. As the tutorial below will show you the temporary root of HTC Desire 610 developed and tested by AdriVelazquez, XDA senior member.

Root HTC Desire 610

Before you start, make sure HTC Desire 610 USB debugging mode is on.

Step 1: You must first unlock the bootloader of your device. Follow the guide in htcdev.com, else you could drop us a message for help.

Step 2: Download Extract the fastboot file on your desktop. Open CMD windows from this folder by SHIFT + RIGHT CLICK on the folder. Open CMD here.

Step 2: Download A3_root_boot.zip in your PC.

Step 3: Shut down your phone, press and hold POWER + VOLUME DOWN button. This should leads you to the bootloader mode.

Step 4: Use VOLUME button to navigate to fastboot option and confirm with POWER button.

Step 5: Connect your phone to PC via USB cable.

Step 6: In CMD windows, type the following and ENTER

fastboot oem rebootRUU

Step 7: Followed by

fastboot flash zip A3_root_boot.zip reboot

Your device is now temporarily rooted but will lost root access whenever the device is reboot.

    Will this work on AT&T phones and do u know if I will b able to tether without the use of pdanet after this root?
