How to Root Samsung Galaxy S4 (All Variants)
(Updated) Added root method for Google Edition Galaxy S4. Samsung Galaxy S4 was officially unveiled on March 2013 and available in the market by April 2013. There is 2 version of Samsung Galaxy S4 being introduced, the Galaxy S4 with 1.6GHz Octa-core processor and Galaxy S IV with 1.9GHz Quad-core processor. Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with a 1.6GHz Octa-core processor will be available in Asia/Middle East and Africa while most of US, UK and Australia will get 1.9GHz Quad-core version. From here, we will show you how to root Samsung Galaxy S4. Root enable the full access to Android system files which allows you to perform administrative-level of tasks such as uninstallation of bloatware (pre-installed carriers’ apps), installation of custom recovery and flashing of custom rom.

Pre-requisites & Requirements
- Samsung Galaxy S4 (Ensure correct device model and firmware; Check device model – Go to Settings -> About Device -> Model Number)
- Windows-based computer or laptop
- Download Samsung Galaxy S4 USB driver for Windows and install in your computer.
- Connect device to computer with USB cable to complete installation.
- Skip this step if you have installed the USB driver.

- Make sure your phone is charged to 60% 80% to avoid battery blackout and interruption during this tutorial.

Instructions:
- Extract motochopper.zip in a folder at the desktop.
- Within the folder, you should see a run.bat file. Right click the bat file and run as administrator.
- Now, connect your phone to your computer via USB cable.
- Press any key on computer to start the rooting process.
- A pop up windows appear on your phone request for “Allow USB Debugging”. Press OK.
- Script running on Command Prompt will stop and request to reboot your phone. Press any key on computer to proceed.
- Your phone shall reboot automatically.
- Please be patient. The whole process may take several minutes.
- Download in Google Play to check the root status.
Root International Samsung Galaxy S4

Instructions:
- Download and extract cofface SamsungI9500 CWM Recovery V2.0.zip to get *.tar or *tar.md5 in a folder in a computer.
- Power off your device.
- Enter Download Mode by pressing and hold the Volume Down key, Home button, and Power button.
- You should see a warning triangle sign, press Volume Up to continue.
- You should see Odin Mode at the top and Downloading… , Do not turn off target!!
- Launch Odin executable file by double-clicking on Odin3 v3.07 exe in the extracted folder in Step 1.
- Connect your device to your computer with USB cable.
- Wait until Odin to show an “Added” message at the lower-left message box.
- After your device is detected by Odin, click on the PDA button and select the *.tar or *.tar.md5.
- Make sure the Repartition option is not checked under Options & checked on Auto Reboot.
- Click Start button to flash *.tar or ***.tar.md5 to your device. Monitor the flash progress on Odin.
- A green “PASS” message should show for a success flashing.
- Your device shall reboot automatically.
- Turn off your device and enter into Recovery Mode by pressing and hold Volume Up key, Home button, and Power button.
- In the CWM Recovery Menu, select root/unroot your phone and press Power Button to confirm.
- Finally, reboot your device.
- Download in Google Play to check the root status.

- Download and extract CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.zip to get *.tar or *tar.md5 in a folder in a computer.
- Power off your device.
