AT&T HTC Desire 610 Root Guide

As received feedback from reader requesting the root guide for AT&T HTC Desire 610, and here comes the tutorial. It is not a straight-forward guide as HTC Desire 610, AT&T users may need to have totally different rooting method. Great thanks to jmz from XDA for bring love to this device.

In order to root your AT&T HTC Desire 610, you must first unlock the bootloader of your deviec. Head over to htcdev.com to unlock bootloader, detailed procedure is provided for you. Once you have unlocked bootloader, follow the steps below to root AT&T HTC Desire 610.

AT&T HTC Desire 610 Root Guide

Step 1: Download Stock Rooted ROM from here.

Step 2: Download JmzA3Kernel from here. Copy and paste the download ROM and Kernel into internal storage of your device.

Step 3: Setup ADB and Fastboot on your PC if you haven’t do so before. Follow guide here.

Step 4: Download TWRP Recovery file and paste in C:\\Fastboot folder. Rename the file as recovery.img

Step 5: Turn off your device. Press and hold POWER and VOLUME DOWN button until a menu show up.

Step 6: Select fastboot from the menu. Use VOLUME key to navigate.

Step 7: Plug in your device to PC

Step 8: Driver should be installed automatically. If not, download and install HTC Sync Software. Get it here.

Step 9: Once driver is installed, open CMD windows. Go to Windows Start button->Type CMD. Then, type cd C:\\fastboot

Step 10: Type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and press ENTER.

Step 11: TWRP recovery is installed now. Turn off the device and reboot into recovery mode by press and hold POWER and VOLUME DOWN. Select Recovery.

Step 12: In TWRP Recovery, press on INSTALL. Select the download ROM from the list.

Step 13: Swipe to the right to flash the ROM.

Step 14: Once the flashing is complete, continue with the flash of Kernel file. Reboot your device.

Step 15: Then install SD Fix from Google Play.

    Thank u for this…but y is there 2 different roms to choose from and which one should I download? I don’t have a fastboot folder on my C: drive….should I just make one and copy the twrp file there?
